LASQUETI ESCAPE 2008, AUGUST 2nd, 3rd
Welcome to Lasqueti Escape, a magical, musical adventure in Paradise. Lasqueti Escape is an intimate two day music festival held every summer on Lasqueti Island, one of the Gulf Islands off the coast of British Columbia, near Vancouver and Vancouver Island. The festival runs the length of the BC Day long weekend, the first weekend in August.
Lasqueti Escape started out as a small community party years ago in Todd's yard. It has progressed and grown over the years to become the full-fledged music festival it is today, still in Todd's yard! Complete with a beautiful pond and surrounded by deep forest, this is a very special spot to listen and groove to jammin live tunes and phat dj beats, all while gazing at the meteor filled sky on a velvet summer night. During the day, swim to the island in the pond or visit one of the local beaches, but don't miss the great music playing all day too!
Our goal at Lasqueti Escape is to provide amazing and varied music, in an intimate setting, to a limited group of "friends".
Lasqueti is a limited access, secluded island with a small year round community. Serviced by a 60 passenger, walk-on only ferry. The island is almost entirely private property wilderness and there are virtually no tourist services. "Downtown" consists of a small marina, including a bar, restaurant and a "corner" store, where the ferry puts in. Along the main road a little ways is an art gallery, post office, bakery and gift store.
