How to Get to Lasqueti Island

Lasqueti Island floats adrift in the Strait of Georgia between the Southeast end of Texada Island and the Parksville/Qualicum area on Vancouver Island. A small, passenger only ferry leaves from French Creek, off the old Island Highway (Hwy 19A) just a few kilometers north of Parksville. There is pay parking available in French Creek; see the wharfinger in the office to the right when you turn right towards the docks. You cannot drive to Lasqueti or bring a vehicle.

Access to Lasqueti is very limited as the ferry only takes 60 people per run and there are only 3 runs each way, per day. The August long weekend is already a very busy weekend on Lasqueti with a community fundraiser picnic on Saturday and summer visitors all weekend. The ferry will be very crowded and works on a first come, first serve basis so there is no guarantee of getting a spot. You may not make the boat if there is an overload.

Lasqueti Escape will be operating a charter service for Escape guests between French Creek, on Vancouver Island, and False Bay, on Lasqueti Island all day on Saturday and Monday. You may book and purchase your ticket ahead of time, therefore ensuring your ride over to the event.

If you wish to come on Friday you can take the ferry (see times below) and the shuttle will pick you up in False Bay and take you to the event site. Please be early (at least 45mins) for the ferry and make sure to take a pass from the board on the Lasqueti Ferry dock (this pass only gives you a spot on the ferry if you are on board a minimum of 15mins before departure). Both the charter and the ferry leave from the last dock, furthest away from the entrance to French Creek.

If you come on the ferry you will leave on the ferry (same routine as previous).

PLEASE NOTE: The SHUTTLE on Lasqueti Island is free, but the CHARTER boat to and from the island is not.

Charter: Note - There are limited tickets available for each charter time

• Book and purchase round trip along with event ticket purchase (ONLY WAY TO GUARANTEE YOUR RIDE ON AND OFF LASQUETI)
• Arrive minimum 1/2 hr before your scheduled departure time (time to park car, get organized)
• Charter will not wait for those who are late
• Do not miss your booked charter time. If you miss your charter we cannot guarantee your passage but we will attempt to fit you on a later boat if possible, the wait could be considerable
• Shuttle will pick up and drop off guests in False Bay

Ferry:

• No guarantee of a spot (WE WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR BOAT TRANSPORTATION OF GUESTS WHO TAKE THEIR CHANCES ON THE FERRY)
• Arrive minimum 45mins before departure time
• Obtain a pass from the ferry dock before parking or organizing (if there are no passes left, there are no spots left on that sailing, passes for the next sailing will be put up upon departure of the previous sailing) 
• Be on the ferry 15 mins before departure 
• Shuttle will pick up and drop off guests in False Bay
